River City band gets donation

Demopolis City Schools Foundation donated $12,000 to the River City Blue Marching Band on Friday night.

During the football game against Shelby County, the foundation leaders presented band directors Caleb Acton and Brianna Jarvis with a check for $12,000 to help continue to build the River City Blue Marching Band. The band will use the funds to purchase new instruments.

The donation was part of the foundation's Classroom Grants Program that is made possible from donations.
