Meadowview Christian School in Selma

After 55 years, Meadowview Christian School in Selma is closing its doors.

In a letter addressed to “Meadowview Christian School Family,” the private school’s board Chairman Brian Manley explains that declining enrollment has led to reduced revenue.

“As you know, our student body population has been declining for the last few years. As the numbers have gone down, so have our financial resources,” Manley said in the letter.

A letter of intent was sent out by the school administrators to determine how many students would be returning for the 2025-2026 school year. The letter says “response was modest at best.”

Although that letter reports that the numbers for the younger students in Tiny Trojans “looked promising,” but it goes on to explain that there would still not be enough cash flow to support the school.

“Looking at those numbers, the board has concluded that opening in the fall would not be financially or academically viable,” he said in the letter. It concludes with “we are discussing the details of what the end of this school year will look like.”

Meadowview Christian Church opened in September 1970 on land donated by Meadowview Christian Church with 332 students and 18 faculty members.
