Last week was Homecoming 2025 spirit week at Selma High School, and the students celebrated with a pep rally and some more than extravagant costumes during the week.
The annual homecoming parade flowed through downtown Selma from Memorial Street, heading into Broad Street, then landing on Dallas Avenue, going into Washington Street, and making its last stop at the current remodeled School of Discovery.
The Selma Saints beat the Montevallo Bulldogs 36-10 at Memorial Stadium for their homecoming game along with a Homecoming Court Announcement as the halftime presentation.
The beloved high school’s cheerleaders stopped every few paces, letting the crowd know that it is homecoming week, and it was time to “Get ready – and STAY ready!” for the highly anticipated Friday night homecoming game. The Selma High School cheerleaders were also joined by Sophia P. Kingston and Clark Elementary School’s cheerleading squads, amongst many others.
Newly elected Selma City Council President Kennard Randolph also participated in the parade. Meadowview Elementary was also heavy in the parade’s rotation, along with the standing Miss FBLA.
