District 3 incumbent David McCants fell to challenger Luke Hallmark in the Sept. 23 runoff for the Demopolis City Council.
Hallmark received 120 votes to McCants’ 71 votes. Hallmark led in the Aug. 26 general election as well.
District 3 was the only Demopolis race to be settled in the runoff.
New terms begin on the first Monday in November, Nov. 3.Â
