Federal, local officials announce $2 million grant to resurface almost 60 blocks in Selma

The DRA was established in 2000 to promote economic development in the Lower Mississippi River and Alabama Black Belt regions.

Officials will announce a $2 million grant that will pave almost 60 blocks in downtown Selma on Feb. 27.

Dr. Corey Wiggins, federal co-chairman of the Delta Regional Authority, will join Congresswoman Terri Sewell and Selma Mayor James Perkins Jr. Feb. 27 at 1:30 p.m. at the Selma Convention Center to officially announce the grant from the DRA. The grant will pay for resurfacing 59 blocks in downtown Selma.  

The DRA was established in 2000 to promote economic development in the Lower Mississippi River and Alabama Black Belt regions.
