Live HealthSmart Alabama is hosting wellness clinics and a health program for kids.
Pop-up clinics will be offered on Oct. 7 at GWC Homes Community Center, Oct. 8 at Felix Heights on Medical Center Parkway, Oct. 21 at Rangedale Apartments on Twilley Street and Oct. 27 at Faith Church on Highway 80 West.
All the clinics will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Flu vaccine will be available.

The program includes eight, one-hour sessions that cover nutrition and physical activity.
“We want to reach all of the kids here in Selma,” Taylor said. “We began in Ward 8. Now we’re going to be going into Ward 6. We may be able to service some more wards as well.”
HHK started at Sophia P. Kingston Elementary School. During the summer they held HHK at Faith Church and the YMCA. Almost 250 kids graduated from the program, Taylor said.
HHK will hold sessions at Clark Elementary and Payne Elementary as well as Sophia P. Kingston, she said. The Jones Valley Teaching Farm has also almost completed the community garden at Kingston.
LHSA is looking for a Mobile Market driver and manager, Taylor announced. The part-time position will involve traveling to Selma, Demopolis and Camden in a van to provide produce to residents. A commercial driver’s license is not required, but you need to be able to set up and break down the Mobile Market, she said.
Visitors can purchase produce with EBT, cash and debit cards. Mobile Market vouchers will also be eligible to be used as cash with the mobile market. The vouchers never expire.
More announcements will be made once the Mobile Market officially hits the streets of Selma and surrounding towns, Taylor said.
