ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed proposals will be received by the Town of Orrville at the office of the Orrville Town Hall located at 14761 Main Street, Orrville, AL 36767 until 2:00 p.m. Local Time May 1, 2025, for Orrville Public Library, Orrville, Alabama, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. Bidders are responsible for assuring their bids are received prior to bid date and time.
The general scope of work includes the construction of a new 2,115-square-foot, single-story public library with a metal building frame structure for the City of Orville. This includes site development, such as grading, utility connections, and an unimproved gravel parking lot with designated handicap spaces. The building will feature a pre-engineered metal shell, brick veneer accents, and EIFS finishes, along with a metal roof system. Interior work includes framing, drywall, flooring (carpet, vinyl plank, epoxy), acoustical ceiling tiles, doors, and finishes. The MEP systems will include HVAC, plumbing, electrical wiring, lighting, and underground electrical connections. Additional scope items include built-in furniture, shelving, signage, and ADA-compliant restrooms. The project also includes optional add-alternates for a canopy structure and additional concrete sidewalk sections. The work will adhere to 2021 IBC, NEC, IFC, and other applicable codes, ensuring a safe and functional public facility.

INVITATION FOR BIDS FOR TIMBER SALE
ON CERTAIN STATE LANDS IN
DALLAS COUNTY, ALABAMA
LOCATION OF TIMBER SUBJECT OF THIS NOTICE:
The “PORTLAND LANDING SOA” sale more specifically described as follows:
Dallas County, Alabama, Township 13 North, Range 9 East: A portion of sections 5,8,9,15,16,17 and 18, containing 124 acres more or less to be thinned and 265 acres more or less to be clearcut (“Sale Area”).
VOLUMES OF TIMBER: The estimated product class timber volumes are as follows:
Pine Pulpwood 7,270 TONS
Blended Pine Logs (CNS and Sawtimber) 19,601 TONS
Pine Poles 608 TONS
Hardwood Pulpwood 826 TONS
Volumes are not guaranteed, and all bidders must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of estimated quantity. The timber to be cut is a portion of all planted pine timber greater than four (4) inches DBH except for the specified leave tree basal area within the Sale Area consisting of three (3) second thinning stands and all timber within five (5) clear cut units as shown on the Sale Area map. The residual leave tree basal area is to be 50 sq. ft. per acre in the two western second thinning plantations and 40 sq. ft. per acre in the eastern second thinning plantation as shown on the Sale Area map. The timber to be left within the three (3) second thinning units of the Sale Area should consist of undamaged dominant and co-dominant classes resulting in a healthy and well distributed stand. As many diseased, forked, deformed, broken or undesirable trees as possible should be removed from the stand while maintaining acceptable leave tree basal area. Specific instructions as to timber to cut is detailed in the COMPLETE INVITATION FOR BIDS FOR area (See below).
BID AMOUNT/DEPOSIT: Each bid must state the per unit bid for each of the products listed above to be produced pursuant to a contract authorizing the cutting and removal of timber until January 31, 2027. Bids must be accompanied by a CERTIFIED or CASHIER’S CHECK, made payable to State Lands Division, representing a bid deposit in the amount of $10,000.00. The successful bidder must execute and return the contract to the DCNR within ten days of receipt; otherwise, the award may be deemed to have been withdrawn and the deposit forfeited to the State.
DATE, TIME & LOCATION OF OPENING OF SEALED BIDS: Sealed bids will be received by Commissioner of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources until WEDNESDAY, MAY 7, 2025, at 2:00 P.M.
