Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS (Plans, Specifications, and Bid Proposal Documents)may be obtained at the office of HSA ENGINEERS, INC located at #1 SATTERFIELD STREET, SELMA, ALABAMA 36702-0929, (334) 875-1960, meredith.hsaeng@gmail.com, upon payment of $100.00 for each set. All BIDDERS submitting a bonafide bid who return Plans and Specifications to ENGINEER, in useable condition, within ten (10) days of the Bid opening will receive a full refund. The OWNER reserves the right to waive any informalities, or reject any or all Bids, and to award the Contract to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder.  Each BIDDER is required to file with his or her Bid either a Cashier’s Check drawn on an Alabama bank or a Bid Bond executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make such bonds in the State of Alabama, payable to the WATER WORKS AND SEWER BOARD OF THE CITY OF SELMA for an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the Bid. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance as required in the Bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. 

All BIDDERS bidding in amounts exceeding $50,000 must be licensed under the Provision of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended, and must be licensed for the type of work on which the Proposal is submitted. BIDDERS must show evidence of license before bidding or Bid will not be received or considered; the BIDDER shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered.  

No BIDDER may withdraw his or her Bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.

PUBLIC NOTICE FOR 2024 PRIMARY ELECTION

Pursuant to §21-4-23(b), of the Code of Alabama (1975), notice is hereby given of the following with regard to Dallas County, Alabama:

The following registration and voting aids for handicapped and elderly individuals will be available in the upcoming state elections:

(1)  Instructions, printed in large type, conspicuously displayed at each voter registration site and polling place, sufficient toprovide hearing impaired and seriously visually impaired individuals with adequate information as to how and where they may register and vote.

(2)  Paper ballots, available at each polling place, for the use of voters who would otherwise be prevented from voting because of their inability to operate a voting machine.

(3)  Absentee ballots, available to any handicapped or elderly individual who, because of handicap or age, is unable to go tothe polling facility in a state election. The deadlines for requesting and submitting an absentee ballot under this subsection shall not be earlier than the latest deadlines prescribed by law for other persons voting by absentee ballot.

(4) The opportunity for any handicapped or elderly individual who, because of handicap or age, requires assistance in casting a vote, to select a person of his or her choice to accompany such individual into the polling place to assist in the casting of the vote.

The 2024 Primary Election is set for March 5, 2024.
