Sealed bids will be received by the Director of Transportation at the office of the Alabama Department of Transportation, Montgomery, Alabama until 10:00 AM on June 27, 2025 and at that time publicly opened for constructing the Planing, Resurfacing, Guardrail Installation, and Traffic Stripe on SR-8 (US-80) from the Edmund Pettis Bridge (MP 85.409) in Selma to a point 0.300 mile east of the junction of CR-43. Length 9.338 mi.Â
The total amount of uncompleted work under contract to a contractor must not exceed the amount of his or her qualification certificate.Â
The Entire Project Shall Be Completed In One Hundred Twenty-five (125) Working Days. A 1.00% DBE Contract Obligation Is Required.Â
A Bidding Proposal may be purchased for $5.00. Plans may be purchased for $9.00 per set. Plans and Proposals are available at the Alabama Department of Transportation, 1409 Coliseum Boulevard, Room E-108, Montgomery, AL 36110. Checks should be made payable to the Alabama Department of Transportation. Plans and Proposals will be mailed only upon receipt of remittance. No refunds will be made.Â
Minimum wage rates for this project have been pre-determined by the Secretary of Labor and are set forth in the advertised specifications. This project is subject to the contract work hours and Safety Standards Act and its implementing regulations.Â
Cashier's check or bid bond for 5% of bid (maximum - $50,000.00) made payable to the Alabama Department of Transportation must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith.Â
The bracket range is shown only to provide general financial information to contractors and bonding companies concerning the project's complexity and size. This Bracket should not be used in preparing a bid, nor will this bracket have any bearing on the decision to award this contract.Â
The Bracket Estimate On This Project Is From $5,373,987 To $6,568,206 .Â
The proposed work shall be performed in conformity with the rules and regulations for carrying out the Federal Highway Act.Â

In accordance with the rules and regulations of The Alabama Department of Transportation, proposals will be issued only to prequalified contractors or their authorized representatives, upon requests that are received before 10 AM., on the day previous to the day of opening of bids.Â
The bidder's proposal must be submitted on the complete original proposal furnished him or her by the Alabama Department of Transportation.Â

The City of Selma, Alabama is seeking licensed and experienced contractors to participate in its Urgent Home Repairs Program, a housing rehabilitation initiative funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA).Â
The program aims to repair approximately 45 owner- or renter-occupied homes located within a designated priority area. The average repair grant per home is up to $10,000. Work will include urgent repairs that address health and safety concerns. The City will issue work write-ups for each property and solicit bids from a pool of pre-qualified contractors selected through this RFQ process.Â

Certified Lead Inspectors/Risk Assessment Services
The City of Selma, Alabama is seeking qualified firms to provide Certified Lead Inspection and Risk Assessment services for residential properties within the Selma city limits. The selected firm will be responsible for identifying and assisting in the mitigation of lead-based paint hazards in accordance with HUD’s Lead Safe Housing Rule, EPA guidelines, and Alabama Department of Public Health requirements.
Firms must be certified, licensed to operate in Alabama, and demonstrate experience in HUD-funded lead hazard control or reduction programs. Respondents must also be familiar with XRF testing, federal compliance documentation, and reporting procedures under 24 CFR Part 35.
