In spite of the bad weather, 25 boats launched from Roland Cooper State Park Saturday April 24th for the 4th annual Selma Area Food Bank Bass Tournament Fundraiser. Tournament Director Jebb Harrison said he was very pleased with the turnout.

Harrison said the anglers all arrived early Saturday morning but the storm was still to bad to launch, so they waited in the pavilion. “Once the storm started slacking up and the lightening quit, we got everybody launched by 6:30 this morning.” Harrison added that because the launch was delayed so late, the weigh in that was to be at 3:00 PM was delayed until 3:30 PM.

“Once everybody got out on the river and started fishing, the weather turned out great” Harrison reported. However by the time the weigh in was wrapping up, severe thunderstorms were moving through and there was even a tornado warning. At that point most all the anglers had left and the only teams still around were the winners.
