In July, Jeremy Burge was slashed in the abdomen while trying to stop a woman who had a crowbar and a knife from hurting customers at the Walmart in Demopolis, Alabama. While healing from his injuries, he has missed work and had to pay for insurance shortfalls that have put the Burge family in a financial bind. On Oct. 5, there is a benefit concert at the Stable in Greensboro, Alabama, to raise money for the family featuring local musicians. Black Belt News Network's Todd Prater got an opportunity to talk with Jeremy's daughter Autumn Burge and Pride Forney, who is one of many organizing the concert.
