A two-vehicle crash in Hale County on claimed the life of a woman and resulted in the injury of a another on Thursday morning.

Irene W. Watkins, 59, died when a 2014 Cadillac XTS she was a passenger in struck a 2006 International tractor-trailer being driven by Emmett L. Dukes, 38, of Selma.

The Cadillac's passenger, Jane L. Wallace, 66, of Greensboro, was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. 

According to a statement from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) the crash took place at 11:15 a.m. on Alabama 69 near the 113 mile marker, approximately three miles north of Greensboro in Hale County.
