A $10,000 reward is being offered for answers that could lead to the arrest of a suspect or suspects in the murder of a Phenix City man in 2003.Â
According to Central Alabama CrimeStoppers, Eric Bernard Nelams, 32, was the victim of a shooting on Sept. 26, 2003.Â
At approximately 5:30 am, the Phenix City Police Department responded to the 2300 block of Level Court in Phenix City where Nelams was found outside of his home in the carport.Â
Nelams was pronounced dead at the scene.Â
He was a member of the U.S. Military and was a father. His family said that he had walked outside to get in his truck when the shooting occurred.Â
CrimeStoppers quoted Nelams mother as saying, "I want the mothers to speak to their sons and daughters. I'm a mother who lost my son. If you know anything, would you please come forward."
CrimeStoppers is offering $5,000 in cash for information and an additional $5,000 is being offered by the state, totaling $10,000.Â
