Selma Police used their Facebook page on April 11 to post 10 arrests made in March and April that range from shootings to burglaries and domestic violence.

The arrests were posted within a two-hour timeframe the day after Police Chief Kenta Fulford was placed on administrative leave by the Selma City Council in a special called meeting on Friday. The city has not released who is serving as interim chief.

The first post was about two arrests made in relation to a shooting at Felix Heights Apartments on Medical Center Parkway on March 12. Lester Muse and Delanfort Corbin were identified as suspects in and taken into custody with unspecified charges for the shooting of Eric Winston, who was shot several times. He was transported for medical treatment, but his condition was not released.

On March 12, Selma police responded to a reported burglary in progress in the 400 block of Church Street. Officers arrested Tiasha Lattimore and charged her with third-degree burglary after the homeowner said she did not have permission to be there.

On March 16, Selma police arrested two juveniles, ages 13 and 15, in connection with a stolen 2020 Nissan Altima from an auto body shop on Roosevelt Avenue on March 15. Security footage was used and the car was later recovered on a residential lot in the area of High Street near Ceola Miller Street.

On March 17, Selma police arrested Tashaun Webb for domestic violence strangulation in relation to an altercation between Webb and a store employee. The store was not identified. Witness statements and store video footage confirmed a physical altercation occurred inside a restricted employee area. Webb is being held at Perry County Jail on a $15,000 bond.

On March 21, Selma police began investigating a domestic-related vehicle incident involving an altercation between two individuals where the suspect used a vehicle to intentionally strike and repeatedly ram the victim’s vehicle before leaving the scene. The suspect was later identified as Wayne Mason. Mason was arrested on April 3 and charged in connection with the incident and held on a $30,000 bond.

On April 8, Selma police responded to a report of a theft involving multiple air conditioning units from Northern Heights Presbyterian Church in Selma. Surveillance footage found two suspects loading the units into a black SUV. The vehicle was identified through law enforcement databases as being associated with Victor Nichols. Surveillance footage and database information further linked Nichols to one of the suspects observed on camera. A second suspect was seen but had their face covered and remains unidentified at this time.

Victor Nichols is being held on $90,000 bond.

On April 9, Selma police responded to a reported theft at Walgreens on Highland Avenue.

Upon arrival, the complainant advised that two individuals entered the store and were observed concealing merchandise. When confronted, one suspect fled the store carrying stolen items, and both suspects then left the scene in a vehicle.

The investigation identified one of the individuals as Colston White. Following further investigation, White was later arrested and charged with retail theft. The second suspect remains under investigation.

Selma Police are currently investigating a child abuse case involving a 7-week-old infant.

Based on the investigation, Xavier One’ll Demond Franklin has been identified as the suspect and was arrested for aggravated child abuse on April 8 in connection with the incident. Franklin is currently being held at the Perry County Detention Facility.
