The Fourth Judicial Circuit of Alabama is mourning after the death of Assistant District Attorney Rosemari Claibon-Hopson on Jan. 10.

She served Bibb, Dallas, Hale, Perry, and Wilcox counties, namely in the Dallas County Juvenile Court, the District Criminal Division, and the Child Support Unit.

"She was known for her attention to detail, her steady professionalism, and the class with which she carried herself in every setting," said an announcement from District Attorney Robert Turner, Jr. "She took her responsibilities seriously and performed her duties with care, fairness, and respect for the people she served and worked alongside."

The announcement said that Claibon-Hopson passed away after a "private health battle".

"Her loss is deeply felt within the District Attorney’s Office and throughout the communities she faithfully served," continued the announcement. "We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, colleagues, and all who were impacted by her life and work."
