A look back at Selma in 2019: Selma police, fire departments change leaders in 2019

Chris Graham.

Leadership of the Selma Fire Department changed hands in 2019. And the Selma Police Department ends 2019 still without a leader.

Former Fire Chief Toney Stephens resigned from the position in April and Assistant Chief Christopher Graham was named interim chief. In October, the Selma City Council named Graham the permanent Selma Fire Chief.

Graham has served as a firefighter for 24 years in the Selma Fire Department and held the interim position since April.

Embattled Police Chief Spencer Collier retired July 30 after a tumultuous two years in office. Selma City Council named Robert Green as interim chief and he ended his term in November. The Selma City Council named Kenta Fulford, a lieutenant in the Selma Police Department, as permanent chief in December.
