The Alabama Historical Commission (AHC) is taking submissions for the 3rd Annual Historic Places Photography Contest to celebrate Historic Preservation Month.Â
The theme for this year's contest is historic sites, said AHC in a post on social media.Â
"We are looking for unique and artistic photos that feature these specific historic places," AHC says on their Facebook page. "This contest is for all photographers of any age or skill."
AHC will accept submissions of photographs in sites located in the following Black Belt counties:Â
- Old Cahawba in Dallas CountyÂ
- Magnolia Grove in Hale CountyÂ
- Gaineswood in Marengo CountyÂ
- Freedom Rides Museum in Montgomery CountyÂ
- Fendall Hall in Barbour CountyÂ
The deadline to send submissions is May 31 at 11:59 p.m. and can be done at this link.Â
