ALFA elects committee members during centennial celebration in Montgomery

The Alabama Farmers Federation celebrated its 100th anniversary and elected new members to the State Hay and Forage Committee at a meeting on Dec. 5 and 6 in Montgomery. 

The committee members elected were: Mark Landers of Tuscaloosa County, Johnny Lee of Geneva County, Evan Nelson of Jefferson County and Bryan Gvillo of Hale County.

Leadership elections were held during the meeting with almost 500 voting delegates. Steve Dunn from Conecuh County was reelected secretary-treasurer in his 12th term. 

Jon Hegeman of Calhoun County was reelected to his second term as Central Area Vice President. Jake Harper of Wilcox County was reelected as Southwest Area Vice President. This is his 10th term. 

Dorman Grace of Walker County, Steve Lake of Cullman County and Trip Horne of Barbour County were voted into Federation Board Districts 1, 4 and 10 respectively. 

Joe Lambrecht of Elmore County was reelected as District 7 director in his third term.

Women’s Leadership Committee Chairman Lydia Haynes of Cullman County and State Young Farmers Committee Chairman Mitchell Henry of Lawrence County were elected to one-year, ex-officio terms on the state board.
