Applications are open for the Christopher H. Spencer Scholarship supporting graduating seniors from Greene County High School and Sumter Central High School.

Spencer is the CEO of the Black Belt Community Foundation. The scholarship is aimed at students who demonstrate leadership and service to their communities.

"His work reflects the belief that education, compassion, and service can strengthen communities and inspire future generations," said a website for the program. "This scholarship honors those values by supporting high school students who demonstrate leadership potential, a heart for service, and a dedication to making a meaningful difference in their schools and communities."
