Author Miranda Spivack will sign copies of her new book at the Uniontown Public Library on May 15 at 5 p.m.
Spivack will discuss and sign copies of her book, "Backroom Deals in Our Backyards: How Government Secrecy Harms Our Communities and the Local Heroes Fighting Back".
The books share stories of Benjamin Eaton, President of Blackbelt Citizens Fighting for Health and Justice, and other local advocates regarding political and environmental issues.
Spivack will read excerpts and Portia Shepherd will lead a Q&A afterwards.
“This is a special chance for the people of Uniontown to connect with someone who really gets the power of local voices and how important it is to share our stories,” said Portia Shepherd of Blackbelt Women Rising. “We’re excited about this and can’t wait to see you soon!"
