The Supporting Empowered Emerging Developers (SEED) Academy has been launched by the City of Montgomery to train emerging real estate developers.

“Housing is the foundation,” said Mayor Steven L. Reed. “By preparing our housing stock as the first line of defense against climate risks, and as a pathway to build wealth, we are investing in people and places that can thrive. SEED Academy is a direct response to that vision.”

The program will choose up to 25 participants to take part in a week long course that involves instruction, technical assistance, and "real-world" application.

Features are:

  • Pre-Academy Groundwork: Landscape survey, steering committee formation, and participant selection support
  • Core Instruction & Capstone Project: Technical and practical training
  • Post-Academy Technical Assistance: Support for participants to launch projects

Applications opened on Tuesday and can be acquired by emailing MGMSeedAcademy.com.
