The co-founder of the Ola Mae Simpson Memorial Scholarship in Selma is the newest graduate of Auburn University (AU).

Terra Jackson co-founded the scholarship with her twin sister Tyra in 2021. Both are graduates of Selma High School.

She graduated from Selma Early College High School in 2012 before going on to receive a bachelor's degree in human development from the University of Alabama in 2014 and a master's of science in human development in 2017.

An email from Tyra Jackson said that her sister studied families impacted by parental incarceration while at AU. She was senator of the graduate student council, and on the university's Anti-Racism Equity and Inclusivity Committee.

During that time she received the Margaret K. Keiley Endowed Graduate Research. She also led several research projects, working as a facilitator and research assistant for the Alabama Healthy Marriage and Relationship Education Initiative.

She is an operations officer for the U.S. Army Reserve and works as a social science research analyst in the program evaluation and research section for the headquarters of the Marine Corps.
