Dallas County, Selma City schools closed on Monday due to storm damage, power outages

Dallas County and Selma City Schools have announced schools will be closed on Monday due to widespread damage and power outages at campuses from severe storms on Sunday.

Dallas County Schools System has employees coming to campuses on Monday to assess damage and says they will be released when assessments are completed.

Selma City Schools' announcement said their closure was due to "widespread outages and downed trees in the Selma and Dallas County area."

Wallace Community College Selma is delaying classes to 10 a.m. Monday because of power outages and damage.
