Keith vs RC Hatch volleyball

Small-town pride was on full display Thursday evening as the Keith Middle-High School Lady Bears hosted the R.C. Hatch Lady Bobcats in a cross-county volleyball showdown.

With the season heating up, the matchup carried extra weight, not only for bragging rights, but also for momentum heading into regional play.

The Lady Bobcats won the first two sets (25-21; 25-14) against the Lady Bears, but the Bears didn't give up too easily. They rallied back and took the third set (25-17). The Lady Bobcats had to fight to close out the match to prevent a final set. They defeated the Lady Bears (25-23) in the fourth and final set to secure the victory.

The Lady Bears head coach Towanna Flennory stated that her team played with good energy, but they made too many mistakes.

The Lady Bears will play again on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at home against Selma High School at 5 p.m.
