The Southside High School Panthers lit up the scoreboard Friday night with a commanding 62-6 win over the Greensboro High School Raiders in front of a spirited home crowd.
From the opening kickoff, the Panthers set the tone on both sides of the ball. Their high-powered offense struck early and often, piling up touchdowns through explosive runs and precise passing. By halftime, Southside had already built a commanding lead, leaving little doubt about the outcome.
Defensively, the Panthers were just as dominant, shutting down Greensboro’s attack and forcing multiple turnovers. The Raiders managed to find the end zone once, but Southside’s relentless pressure and tackling kept them from building any momentum.
Southside head coach Charles Moody stated, “We came out with great effort, great attitude and great aggression. The guys played with great intensity. We just have to work on our second group. Our second group is our future.”
The Panthers will look to carry this momentum into next week’s matchup as they host the Keith Middle-High School Bears at 7 p.m. Greensboro plays RC Hatch.
