Gaineswood in Demopolis

The Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce (DACC) will hold a ribbon cutting on May 14 to celebrate the completed renovations of the historic Gaineswood house. 

Gaineswood is a plantation house that was built between 1843 to 1862 by its owner and architect Nathan Bryan Whitfield, according to the Alabama Historical Commission. It features a Greek revival structure. 

The ribbon cutting will feature light refreshments and complimentary tours. 

The event will be held at 10 a.m. at the house located on 805 South Cedar Avenue in Demopolis.
