Domestic violence and sexual abuse victim advocacy groups throughout Alabama received another round of funding from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA).
“These agencies ensure that victims of domestic violence and sexual assault have a place to turn for help when they need it most,” said Gov. Kay Ivey in an announcement. “I commend the dedicated staff members of these nonprofits for helping people at their most vulnerable times.”
SAN Inc. (Turning Point) – $36,744 for sexual assault victims in Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Marengo, Pickens, Sumter and Tuscaloosa counties.
Domestic Violence Intervention Center – $166,025 for victims of domestic and family violence in Chambers, Lee, Macon, Randolph and Tallapoosa counties.
Rape Counselors of East Alabama – $124,112 for adult and child sexual assault victims in Chambers, Lee, Macon, Randolph, Russell and Tallapoosa counties.
Family Counseling Center of Mobile Inc. – $178,819 for victims in Clarke, Mobile and Washington counties.
“ADECA joins Gov. Ivey in support of these agencies that provide needed services to victims,” ADECA Director Kenneth Boswell said.
