The Dallas County Family Resource Center has moved to Arsenal Place.

Judge Bob Armstrong, president of the FRC Board of Directors, said this will be a win-win situation for everyone involved. And because this move will help the FRC run more efficiently, more people can be helped.

The move from 431 Church St. to Arsenal Place just down the road at 22 Church St. has been planned for a while, according to Armstrong. Moving day was Nov. 14.

Armstrong said the Board of Directors, the organizations that fund the grants and other donors agree that FRC will come under the umbrella of the Dallas County System of Services, which already has jobs programs and juvenile programs at Arsenal Place.

FRC’s offices will be to the right as you walk into Arsenal Place. All other programs will be in other areas of the building. Armstrong said the FRC programs will remain the same. “The public will know it’s in a different place, but there won’t be any other difference,” he said.

The people working for the FRC will still be there, except for Director Thomas Frazer, who left to pursue other opportunities. Instead of replacing him, the FRC will be run by the administration already running Dallas County System of Services. Money saved by eliminating that salary, along with lower administration costs, and the money saved on rent and utilities will be used to help clients, Armstrong said.
