Gallery 905 will host a free opening reception for textile artist Beth Oberle on Feb. 5 at 5:30 p.m.

"Beth Oberle is a textile artist and content creator at Spiral Path Arts. A Midwesterner by birth, she has lived in Selma since 2022," said an announcement from Gallery 905. "Her work centers on traditional fiber techniques and handwork, using reclaimed and long-collected materials sourced from thrift stores, estate sales, and personal archives."

"Through her practice, Oberle explores historic forms of making, particularly those tied to women’s labor, and reinterprets them in contemporary ways."

Oberle works with fabric, thread, yarn, and needle-based techniques, and sews her own clothing and home furnishings, the announcement states.
