Happiness Nutrition 27 owners Lashun Langdon got the Selma City Council to rename the road where the business is located after her last name.
Langdon got enough signatures from those with properties on King’s Alley off Dallas Avenue to agree to renaming it Langdon Lane, so the council approved it in the March 11 council meeting.
Langdon also recently announced a new partnership with a fellow businesswoman to bring some joy to the Queen City.
In 2021 Lashun Langdon opened Langdon Happiness Nutrition 27, a shop for protein shakes, loaded teas and health-smart coffees. The business’ menu is full of healthy food options, including fruits, veggies and even waffles. The shop is a big hit among many Selma citizens.
About a year ago, she decided to start a partnership with Kimberly Williams, the CEO of Kustom Kreation Flower & Gift Shop.
“You can get a flower from Kim, and a loaded tea, coffee or protein shake from Happiness Nutrition,” Langdon said. “We named it ‘Happiness in a Bouquet’ because what’s greater than happiness in a community?”
The partnership is intended to bring community joy and inspiration, despite the violence that has plagued the city. The two business owners seek to inject joy by using nature’s beauty and health-smart products to be a haven for social harmony and healthy living.
Even though Happiness in a Bouquet is advertised for special occasions, the two owners are not limiting themselves to national holidays, birthdays or Christmas. They encourage you to “define your special” and “customize your happiness.” It’s not just the order; it’s about the meaning of the order. That’s where the joy comes in, she said.
Langdon said they need at least 24 hours’ notice to create the bouquet and 72 hours if there is a specific color scheme requested.
