Harvesters of Hope in Montgomery was one of 10 to win an award from the international Association for Continuing Legal Education (ACLEA).

Competitors represented more than 250 agencies for the award, said a press release from ACLEA. It represents the "highest level of achievement" for involved staff and volunteers.

Harvesters of Hope was given the Steven Leleiko Memorial Award for Professional Excellence in Public Interest category.

"Receiving the Steven Leleiko Memorial Award for Professional Excellence in Public Interest is a profound honor," said Tom Heflin, Executive Director of Harvesters of Hope.

"This tribute belongs to our entire community- our participants, grantors, board members, and staff—whose daily commitment guarantees that dignity, equity, and opportunity remain within reach for everyone. We proudly share this achievement with the people we serve."

Established in 2025 Harvesters of Hope is a nonprofit that assists residents in "legal deserts" where access to legal services is limited. They were awarded at the Annual Meeting of ACLEA held in Boston, MA on July 26.
