Rain

Heavy rainfall is expected for much of this week, and with it, the potential for severe weather as a warm pattern forms.

In the aftermath of a bitterly cold weekend, temperatures will rise and melt any remaining ice, according to the Alabama Emergency Management Agency (EMA). But disturbances are anticipated to bring rainy weather from Tuesday to Sunday morning.

The weather may turn severe on Wednesday during the afternoon and evening with straight-line winds and hail being the main threats, said the EMA.

Flooding is also an issue as three to six inches of rain may occur likely from Thursday to Sunday, though Wednesday may see this as well.

Severe storms may happen on Thursday through Saturday though they are expected to be isolated.

The public is advised to keep up to date with weather reports and take precautions as needed.
