Lowndes Academy suffers first loss at Chambers Academy

The AISA Class AAA Region 2 Lowndes Academy Rebels are no longer undefeated. The Rebels fell to non-regional opponent the Chamber Academy Rebels in LaFayette 27-0 Friday night. 

With the loss, Lowndes Academy fell to 5-1 overall but remined 3-0 in region play. The AISA Class AAA Region 1 Chambers Academy Rebels improved to 5-1 overall and remained 2-0 in region play.

In Friday’s game, Lowndes Academy had 171 yards of total offense to 329 for Chambers Academy. The Lowndes Academy Rebels had 118 yards through the air and 53 yards rushing. And the Chambers Academy Rebels had 28 yards passing and 301 yards rushing.

For Lowndes Academy, Braydn Stokes went seven for 28 passing for 118 yards and suffered three interceptions. Lowndes Academy also lost two fumbles. 

Also, for Lowndes, Jeremy Hardy Jr. rushed 13 times for 42 yards. Huston Hampton had four pass receptions for 82 yards. And Crawford Dansby had 11 tackles, two assists and one tackle for loss.

Lowndes Academy will host non-regional opponent the Valiant Cross Academy Warriors on Oct. 3.
