The AISA Class AAA Region 2 Lowndes Academy Rebels are crushing opponents in their first three games of 2025.
Now 3-0 overall and 1-0 in region play, the Rebels defeated Edgewood Academy 30-6, Crenshaw Christian 41-14 and the Fort Dale Academy Eagles 47-14 in their first region game of the season Friday night. All three games were played at home.
Bradyn Stokes completed five of 10 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown while suffering one interception for the Rebels. He also carried 10 times for 36 yards and a touchdown.
But the star of the game for the Rebels was Jeremy Hardy Jr., who rushed for an incredible 320 yards on 16 carries for four touchdowns.
The Rebels put together 512 yards total offense while holding Fort Dale to 218 total yards. The Rebels out passed Fort Dale 130 yards to 41. And the Rebels out rushed the Eagles 382 yards to 177 yards.
Hardy scored the first two touchdowns of the night on a 64-yard run and a 6-yard run to make it a 12-0 contest in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Hardy scored on a 54-yard touchdown run to make it a 27-0 score at that point in the game.
In the third quarter, Hardy ran for a 48-yard touchdown to make it a 40-14 contest at that point.
Crawford Dansby led the defense for Lowndes Academy with 10 tackles.
Lowndes Academy coach Speed Sampley said following the win, “We played very hard. Our line made strides and we're much more consistent. We just need to build off each week to get better.”
The Rebels will travel to play the Clarke Prep Gators in another regional game on Sept. 12.
