A man was arrested for various charges, including drug trafficking, after being stopped by a K-9 officer from the Eufaula Police Department (EPD). 

According to an announcement from the EPD the stop took place on Sept. 17 on a vehicle being driven by Edaniel Bowers. A positive indication was made by a Narcotics Detection Canine (NDC) named Coco. 

During a search police reportedly found approximately 42 grams of powder cocaine, approximately nine ounces of synthetic cannabinoids, digital scales, drug packaging materials and a firearm.

Bowers was charged with two counts of drug trafficking, resisting arrest, attempting to elude, and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

"This seizure and arrest are the culmination of a diligent investigation conducted by the EPD Special Operations/Narcotics Division, one of many conducted in recent months by the Unit, who are dedicated to combating drug distribution and the violence associated with it within our community," said the announcement from EPD.
