A man has been sentenced to more than 14 years to federal prison for being in possession of a gun that was used in a shooting in Brundidge that resulted in an injury.

Brian Oneal Guice, 43, was sentenced on Wednesday, according to a statement from U.S. Attorney Kevin Davidson.

On April 7 in 2024 officers responded to a call about shots fired at a convenience store in Brundidge where a bystander was injured. Several suspects fled the store, with one later being identified as Guice.

In May members of the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force trucked Guice down to an apartment in Troy and took him into custody. During the investigation it was found that he was a convicted felon and was prohibited from owning firearms.

The gun was linked to the shooting after a forensic analysis.
