Demopolis High School head football coach Lance Tucker has resigned.

Tucker told al.com that he resigned on Tuesday and doesn't yet know his next move.

Tucker had a 17-7 record at Demopolis High in his two years of coaching there. His overall record is 126-62 over 16 years as a head coach at three schools in Alabama and four years at a high school in Bartlett, Tenn.

Tucker is best known as a quarterback for The University of Alabama. He also was a star quarterback for his father Waldon Tucker at Fayette County High School.

Tucker replaced Demopolis' previous coach, Brian Seymore, who had been with the team for six seasons.
