The Marion Police Department now has two new cars in its fleet thanks to a collaboration with the city government.Â
An announcement from the City of Marion stated that the additions will improve the ability to respond to calls and will increase visibility.Â
Mayor Dexter Hinton and the members of the Marion City Council were credited with working together with the police department to bring the vehicles to the fleet.Â
"We are grateful for the continued support of the Mayor and City Council," said Police Chief Nikisha Gailes. "These additional vehicles will enhance our ability to serve the community, improve operational readiness, and support our officers as they work each day to protect the citizens of Marion."
