Montgomery White Water

The Montgomery County Commission wants details about how Montgomery Whitewater Park has used a line of credit.

The Montgomery County Commission wants to know what’s going on beneath the surface at Montgomery Whitewater Park.

A line of credit available to businesses in the Capital Maxwell Gateway was discussed at the Montgomery County Commission’s Jan. 20 meeting. The Capital Maxwell Gateway is an entrance into the downtown area that includes Montgomery Whitewater Park.

County Commissioner Isiah Sankey asked why Whitewater was the only business that has tapped into the line of credit, and he asked why Whitewater representatives have not approached the commission to explain why they needed to access the line of credit.

He also said the commission hasn’t seen any invoices as they have requested.

County Administrator Kindell Anderson explained Whitewater’s finances haven't come before the commission because an agreement with Whitewater is not finalized.

Anderson recommended that a meeting be set up with Whitewater leaders to discuss the matter.

The Montgomery County Commission meets on the first and third Tuesday of the month at 101 South Lawrence Street. Information sessions begin at 10 a.m. followed by the formal meeting.

Livestreamed meetings can be seen on the commission’s YouTube and Facebook pages.
