A man from Montgomery has been found guilty of "attempting to exploit and endanger children" during a sex trafficking investigation, said a recent statement from Montgomery County District Attorney Azzie Oliver.

According to the statement, Key Coley was convicted last week of traveling to meet a minor for an unlawful sex act and the electronic solicitation of a child in December of 2023.

Coley was among 14 others to be arrested as part of investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the Montgomery Police Department, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

Oliver's statement said that Coley used a website to message someone who indicated that they were 14 years old. They agreed to meet and have sex in exchange for money, though Coley reportedly offered marijuana instead.

He then is said to have driven to meet with the individual and was arrested with marijuana on his person. He will be sentenced on April 23.

Six of the 15 have pleaded guilty, said Oliver's statement.

“Child exploitation and sex trafficking are deeply harmful crimes that leave lasting impacts on victims and families," she said. "I commend all the law enforcement officers and prosecutors who were instrumental in securing the conviction of an individual who exploited and endangered children and thank them for their diligent work."

"This outcome reflects a strong commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community and holding offenders fully accountable for their actions.”
