Four homicides in Montgomery over the weekend prompted Police Chief James Graboys to hold a press conference on Monday.

"I want to be clear: I am angry... because the killings are senseless," he said in his opening remarks. "None of them made sense."

There were overall seven violent incidents between April 10 and 12. Detectives determined that none were related to each other, Graboys said.

In all of the homicides the victims and the suspects knew each other, he added.

On April 10 police responded to the 1000 block of West South Boulevard where Martavius Langford, 28, was found shot. He was taken to a hospital but died of his injury. Adrian Jackson, 30, was identified as the suspect and arrested.

On April 11 another took place on the 900 block of Grove Street. Andre Smith, 35, was found and declared dead on the scene. An adult female was found with a non-life-threatening injury.

On April 12 the third incident took place on the 1000 block of Day Street Road. Panderus Williams, 48, was found dead at the scene.

On the same day police responded to the 6300 block of Wares Ferry Road where Tory Kelly, Jr., 21, was located and also pronounced dead at the scene.

There were three other assault incidents involving firearms on these days, Graboys said. These occurred at the 2600 block of North Belt Drive, the 4000 block of Rosa Parks Avenue and the 3400 block of Fountain Circle.
