A 14-year-old juvenile from Montgomery has been arrested for allegedly making a terroristic threat against Opelika High School.Â
According to the Opelika Police Department, the threat was made by phone on Tuesday, leading to a lockdown of the school.Â
Opelika authorities worked with the FBI to trace the phone to a residence in Montgomery where detectives and members of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) served a search warrant and found the phone on the suspect.Â
The teen was arrested and placed at the Lee County Youth Development Center.Â
"The initial investigation indicates that there was no plan to carry out the threat," said a post on the Opelika Police Department's Facebook page. "Detectives are continuing to investigate the juvenile’s connection to Opelika."
