The Bridge Academy Selma, held its annual graduation ceremony at the Walton Theater Selma. Over 100 students, from the Selma location, received their high school diplomas.

Judge Venetta Perkins was the keynote speaker. “I’m so excited to be here and I’m super excited about these graduates. This program is super successful,” said Perkins.

“It is absolutely awesome to have these young people as well as adults march across the stage. It is absolutely great to see them accomplish such a great goal. This is not a G.E.D. program. This is actually a diploma that they can use to enter any college in the state of Alabama.” says Pastor John E. Grayson.

Mrs. Cynthia Melton Hobbs said, “We’ve come up with a successful formula. We have successful partners.”

Tawalla McClendon was the valedictorian of the class. She was inspired by her children to obtain her high school diploma. “I highly recommend this program. Just keep going and don’t give up. Never says never. It’s never too late to accomplish anything because I did it.” Mclendon said

This program had 203 total graduates this year. They have had 683 graduates total to successfully complete this program.”.

The Bridge Academy Selma provides an enriched learning environment that has helped countless students learn, develop and grow. A vision of the founders, Pastor John Grayson and Dr. C.C. Grayson, TBAS was established as an outreach to positively impact high school dropout rates. With the expertise of Mrs. Cynthia Hobbs, the vision began a reality in June 2017. The program thrives on autonomy and excellence to prepare graduates to become college and career ready upon completion.
