Do not cross III

A crash involving a number of commercial vehicles has caused a road closure in Lowndes County, said a statement from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency on Tuesday.

The crash took place at approximately 3:51 a.m.

"All westbound and eastbound lanes of U.S. 80 from the 107 mile marker to the 118 mile marker in Lowndes County are currently closed and will be for an undetermined amount of time," said the statement.

"Currently, there is an extreme amount of fog in the area, motorists are urged to seek alternate routes as this may be an extended road closure."

The circumstances of the crash are being investigated by troopers from ALEA's Highway Patrol Division.
