If looks can kill.
The wide-legged trouser trend isn't going away anytime soon, but one pair in particular has taken social media by storm, and not in a good way.
The flowy wide-leg pant, which comes in multiple colors and retails for $45.90, has gone viral for apparently causing women to severely trip – spraining their ankles, scraping their knees, and even landing in the hospital.
Are the pants simply too long or too wide?
Fashionistas blame the width and have warned their followers not to purchase the pants.
@jessicapearce_ please because these Zara trousers are hazardous ! #zara#hazard#zaratrousers#zaratriphazard♬ Saxophones getting louder - Sped Up - AntonioVivald
People on social media suggested tailoring the pants' length or returning them.
However, one customer on Instagram said that "it’s not the length, it’s more the width and they wrap around the opposing leg."
"I’m quite tall and I was wearing platforms and the trousers made me break my toenail," wrote one user.
"I tripped and actually dislocated my shoulder because of these. My kids have banned them," another lamented.
Zara did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Talker News.
