The UK military is experimenting with camouflaging horses for battle.
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment is testing bespoke camouflage it has developed to improve concealment techniques for future operational environments.
Newly released images show the regiment using its annual Summer Camp at Longmoor Training Area in Hampshire to test how horses and cavalry skills could support military operations.

The MOD said: "Soldiers are exploring mounted reconnaissance, mobility in difficult terrain, concealment, sustainment and equine welfare, drawing inspiration from allied nations that continue to employ horses in operational environments."
The MOD added that the United States maintains an expeditionary mounted and pack-horse capability for potential deployment in austere environments "following the 9/11 attacks in 2001, special forces deployed to Afghanistan to conduct missions against the Taliban."
