HELENA, Mont. – The Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the cause of death of a man who died on Mount Helena in October 2025.
Deputies had responded to Mount Helena on October 24 after someone reported an unresponsive individual. Deputies arrived and found the man dead.
The Coroner’s Office responded to the scene to identify the body.
The sheriff’s office said a full investigation, including scene assessment and postmortem examination, concluded that the man died of Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease and deemed his death as from natural causes.
It said that means there are no suspicious external factors.
“We here at the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Zabriskie during this challenging time,” the sheriff’s office wrote in its report.
