A model village has unveiled a miniature football ground named "Wombley Stadium" - which comes complete with streakers.

The recently updated football stadium at the Babbacombe Model Village in Torquay, Devon, features over 1,200 figures.

A nod to Torquay United FC, the fiberglass model took over 18 months to complete, with the figures all being handmade using epoxy clay and hand-painted.

The stadium is also fully illuminated at night with digital screens and sound effects.

The display features plenty of hidden humor and puns - including a food stall called 'Porky United', a fictional advert for a pet accessories company 'Pucci' and two streakers on the hallowed turf.

Reece Winters and Martin Scott apply the finishing touches to the football players.

Also featured are the Match of the Day team on punditry duties in the press box featuring Alan Shearer, Micah Richards and Mark Chapman.

The new 'Wombley' follows a tradition, as there was one built when the model village opened in 1963.

Since its inception, the match taking place on the pitch has always involved either Torquay United or the England national team.

The old model was updated in 2022 to celebrate England's victory in the Women's Euro 2022 final over Germany - with most of the miniature players donning ponytails.

The scoreboard read 'Women's European Cup Final' with England beating Germany 2-1.
