Fire Generic - Vault

MADISON COUNTY, Mont. — A grass fire ignited between Sheridan and Twin Bridges on Thursday evening, prompting a collaborative response with emergency crews from several agencies, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) reported.

Authorities urged drivers to slow down and exercise caution while traveling in the area near Montana Highway 287 and West Georgia Road, where the fire is burning.

Crews from Sheridan, Twin Bridges, Alder, Virginia City, the MCSO and the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation are currently working together to manage the scene and extinguish the fire.

No information has been shared regarding the cause of the blaze.
