The racing suit Steve McQueen wore in driving film Le Mans could fetch over £711,000 ($960,000).
The Hollywood icon was seen in the two-piece Hinchman Indianapolis racing suit in the 1971 film about the famous endurance race.
Dallas-based Heritage Auctions says the outfit is “the first and only conclusively photo-matched” version of the suit.
The starting bid is £148,000 ($200,000), with the auction house saying that in 2011 a similar racing suit sold at auction without photo-matching documentation for £711,000 ($960,000).
The suit features in Heritage Auctions’ Hollywood/Entertainment Signature Auction from Nov. 30 to Dec. 3.
